Job Specification

Objectives:

§  To provide specialist support to the Head of IS for specific projects relating to particular clients and project delivery

 

§  To support the IS Support function and operate as Problem Manager for complex infrastructure issues

 

§  To mentor IS Support for internal IS training and support

 

§  To provide proactive solutions to Head of IS for all projects and day to day focus of the operational business

 

§  To monitor IS product, technology and commercial developments and advise the Head of IS on competitiveness opportunities

Procedures:

§  Assist the Head of IS in designing and implementing enterprise management platform networks

 

§  Providing support relating to projects using MS Exchange servers, CITRIX/ Thin Client, Firewall Security, clustering and networking

 

§  Project management and consulting skills essential for use in planning and responsible for managing and delivering assigned project work on time and to budget

 

§  Essential in providing support to the Head of IS with Microsoft's complete range of back-office products

 

§  Take responsibility for external communications and the interface with group customers for specific projects assigned

 

§  To support the IS strategy in delivering all projects within assigned timescales or scope of the project

 

§  To make recommendations to the Head of IS on process and project improvements

 

§  To create an escalation of issues plan relating the business for the Head of IS to use for reporting into the CEO and Board

§  Taking control and acting on behalf of the Head of IS when appropriate and in a timely manner including client relationship management and internal communication updates

 

Person Specification

Education:

n   Qualified to degree level in and IT related subject, preferably in a numerate discipline.

Work Experience:

n    

Skills:

§  Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers (MCSE) Accreditation

§  Knowledge of pharmaceutical and regulatory requirements.

§  To have worked within a growing organisation

§  Experience of project worked delivered in timelines

§  Highly skilled Senior Technical Specialist

§  Microsoft Exchange experience

§  Regulatory IS audit experience preferred

§  IS training experience

§  Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills

§  Client and supplier management skills

§  Influencing skills

§  Planning and implementing skills

§  Able to think flexibly and adapt quickly

§  IS related skills including networking, internet/web technologies, server management, operating systems, office applications.

§  Excellent organisational and communication skills

§  Analytical skills

§  Attention to detail
